I may have found the best breathable walking shoes for hot climates!
Living in a hot climate means your shoes matter more than you might think. When temperatures climb, the wrong pair can leave your feet hot, sweaty, and uncomfortable before you’ve even finished a short walk.
Over the past month, I’ve been testing a pair of SUAVS walking shoes almost daily, and they’ve quickly become one of my go-to options for casual walks and everyday errands.
If you’re looking for breathable shoes that work well in warm weather, here’s my honest experience.
The Shoes I’ve Been Wearing
The pair I have is the SUAVS The Zilker in women’s black with a gum sole.
The first thing I noticed about these shoes is how lightweight and breathable they are. The knit fabric allows a lot of airflow, which makes a big difference when you’re walking in warm weather.
Some features I really like:
- Extremely breathable knit fabric
- Lightweight and flexible
- Easy to pack for travel
- Comfortable for everyday casual walks
- Neutral style that goes with almost anything
Since they’re so flexible, they almost feel more like wearing a sock than a traditional sneaker.
My Real-World Experience (After a Month)

I’ve been wearing these shoes almost daily for about a month for things like:
- casual neighborhood walks
- running errands
- quick trips out of the house
For this type of use, they’ve been great. My feet stay cool and comfortable, even when it’s warm outside.
They’ve quickly become one of those pairs of shoes that sits by the door because they’re so easy to throw on.
One Thing I Did Notice
There was one situation where these shoes weren’t ideal.
When I tried walking very fast for exercise, my foot started sliding a bit inside the shoe. Because the fabric is so flexible, it doesn’t lock your foot in place the same way a structured athletic shoe would.
After a while, the sliding actually started to make the bottom of my foot sore.
To be fair, these shoes aren’t designed for fast fitness walking or intense workouts. They’re much better suited for:
- casual walks
- travel
- everyday wear
- light movement throughout the day
As long as you use them for those purposes, they’re very comfortable.
A Small Referral Perk
If you’re thinking about trying a pair, you can use my referral link here:
It’s not an affiliate link and I don’t receive cash from it.
It simply gives:
- $20 off your first pair of shoes
- and I receive $20 toward a future pair as well
Just a little win-win if you were already thinking about trying them.
Final Thoughts
If you live in a warm climate and want a lightweight, breathable shoe for everyday movement, SUAVS are definitely worth considering.
After wearing my pair consistently for the past month, they’ve proven to be a great option for casual walks and daily errands, especially when the weather is hot.
They may not replace a structured athletic shoe for intense workouts, but for comfortable, breathable everyday movement, they’ve earned a spot in my regular rotation.
